Chin State

Located on the West side is the CHIN STATE. India to its north & west and Rakhine State to its south. Average temperature ranges in 15C to 4C. The majority of the population are CHIN_mostly Christians. There are many kinds of orchids and shododendrons. Nanauk ( Mythurs) are raised but they are tended in the wild - Haka is the capital of Chin State.

SOUTHERN CHIN STATE

The true heart of the traditional Chin culture can be found in the Southern Chin State. PALETWA, the capital of Southern Chin State, can be reached via boat along the Kaladan River from Sittwe or Kyauktaw.
In the southern Chin Hills some women still tattoo this faces. This tattooing tradition started a thousand year ago. The man from neighbouring places captured pretty Chin girls as Salvery. Since there the Chin tribe started tattooing girl’s faces to avoid from hunters. The second highest mountain Mt. Sarawati, 12553 feet high is an the northern part of Chin Hills and the third highest Mt. Victoria 8000 feet, is on the southern part of the Chin Region.
